What is it that deep down you find yourself “thirsting” for, precisely? How can the glory of God—and his intervention at the cross—truly satisfy?
I read these questions in a devotional by John Piper about Living in the Light: Sex, Money, and Power. I didn’t read the book. I just read snippets from it that have been made into a five day devotional on BibleGateway.com. Now I am interested in the book.
Since I just finished watching a show on HGTV, You Live in What, right now the answer is simple. I’ve been lusting over these gorgeous living spaces. But it’s more than just owning such a space. It’s the idea that I could comfortably relax and find peace and joy and a slower life in such a space.
But the money to buy those spaces would not bring peace, joy, or a slower life.
God supplies all of those things.
God has supplied all of those things.
Godliness with CONTENTMENT truly is GREAT GAIN.
