We are in a serious relationship with IHOP

image

Yes, I am posting about IHOP, the International House of Pancakes, not a religious group. We are generally people who like change. Except for Sushi and our neighborhood Mexican restaurant we never go the same place twice. I’ve always been that way. Maybe it’s related to my love of change. As young adults, my best friend and I would never go to the same restaurant twice and when we went back to a restaurant, we couldn’t order the same thing two times in a row. I think we generally had a rule about not eating the same thing at a restaurant except once every five visits. I made an excuse for Pad Thai and could have it every other time.
Shah and I are pretty much the same. We like to try new things and there are so many places he has never been, so we always go somewhere new. Except IHOP. It is the perfect breakfast restaurant. You never have to make that agonizing decision between sweet or savory. You can have both. Every brunch I have ever had I have planned to get something sweet and ended up with something completely different. Now I can have both. Since we first went there, about three months ago, I bet we have been at least twice a month, if not more. No, we don’t order the same thing any of these times. There is no need. Just about every dish comes with a side of pancakes. I love change and am always looking for something new and maybe better, but we have found perfection and have apparently stopped looking. Yes, the Z family and IHOP are in a serious committed relationship.
