Weekend Outdoors

We had an awesome weekend. Saturday, we of course went to IHOP and then went to High Falls State Park and met my law school roommate and her two girls.  It has been over 12 years since we have lived together and 9 years since we have seen each other.  Of course, like with all old friends, we picked up where we left off.  Or really, probably mostly skipped over quite a few years and picked up where we are now.  I hope we can get together more often now that they live so close.

Zoya’s head is finally big enough wear a hat and didn’t seem to mind it at all.  Despite this very serious face, she still loves being outside.

Sunday we got her an even warmer hat, and as soon as she saw herself in the mirror she actually smiled like a cat.

We actually went for a 5k walk again on Sunday.  So we were outside twice in one weekend.  Once walking up and down along a river and on Sunday, we actually added a little jogging to our walk.  I am still feeling the positive mood enhancers flowing through my blood.

She really wants to crawl.  She seems to have some innate sense that going up on her hands and knees will get her towards her goal, but she hasn’t figure out that she has to actually move them while she is up there.

So she goes back to her stomach and kind of swims and rolls forward.  I had to get a timelaps app to figure out how she moved at all, because when watching with the naked eye she seems to stay still, and yet within a few minutes can be completely on the other side of the blanket.
