Want to know how a mom is doing? Ask how her child is doing.

It’s just amazing. When my throat hurts, Zoya’s throat hurts. When I have a fever, she has a fever. When I am ready to go home, she is needs some quiet time. When I am ready to go out, she needs a change of scene too.
Mother’s are always superimposing their own feelings onto their child. I have a sister in law who believes her children thrive on structure and strict bed times.  I have a friend who believes her children are completely flexible and can sleep anywhere. My child, it is no suprise, is completely random and unpredictable. She is a night owl and never wants something the same way twice.
Mother’s are always projecting themselves onto their children, and I’m wondering at what age this will stop. I’m looking forward to getting to know the real person, the person that disagrees with me on more than just bedtime.
