Let’s be real, not just PC. This too can be a verse of praise, especially when you are starting to feel guilty for not being more proactive in trying to get the prosecutors to work harder on your husband’s murder case.
“For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted.”
Psalm 9:12 NIV
From the beginning, as a long time prosecutor, I said this was not my case and I would leave the prosecution of his killer in the hands of the police and DAs office. But when two years later, despite media coverage and being a former employee, you have never heard a word from one of these two agencies, you begin to feel that maybe you need to pull it together and go fight for justice and not leave it to those with other priorities.
Then you read this verse, you are unsure speaking up won’t backfire, you feel sorry for victims who don’t have a voice they could use even if they wanted, you remember God is the ultimate source of justice and you try to sleep another night, grateful that this is not in your hands.
