Raising a Little Girl

In raising an almost three year old, I seek to be always stuck between thinking why didn’t I think to say that earlier and why did I have to say that.

For example, three days of meltdown anytime someone splashed her I finally said “Zoya, let’s try a different way to react when you get splashed. Instead of crying why don’t you try laughing.”

The response? “OK, mom.” Within seconds a major laughing water fight was happening.

Is that all I needed to do?
