There are times in the midst of all this grief that you just have to laugh. Whether it’s for no real reason, like on Friday when I was just in a joyous mood, or its because your 15 month old is just plain entertaining at times.
Like when you told her to put her clothes in the hamper and you realize she went above and beyond.
Or you realize the 2nd time she wears this dress that it has bloomers and they are still attached
Or you realize your brilliant way of keeping her safe while you shower just won’t work anymore. Or that she now likes to change her clothes.
Or when she figures out how to get the candle that you took away from her and pushed back on your dresser.
Or when you really don’t mind staying with her on he nursing mothers room since she won’t go in the nursery.
Or when she finally gets stuck
Or when she also likes to write on A Grief Observed.
Or when she finally wears me down and I let her climb in my chair.
Or when she figures out after several attempts how to get both feet in the trash can.
Or when she simply decides to sit down.
It’s been far too easy for me to get caught up in the frustrations of mothering and forget how funny these kids are. Thank you for the reminder.
