Z really is not a fan of mommy leaving these days. But I managed to resist feeling guilt and started to consider running again.
By that I mean I walked/jogged for 30 minutes. I’m not so sure how this running after childbirth works. Seems I have some muscles that need tightening as much as I have muscles that need loosening.
But it was fantastic.
Running is the best way to explore a new place. I have a rarely satisfied desire to see everything.
I would have never known this was hidden behind the hotel if I hadn’t gone for a run. Who doesn’t find it fantastically interesting that Union Memorial Cemetery was once called Strangers Cemetery? Well worth sweat and baby’s grumpy face for a few minutes.
Marriage seems to be all about finding compromises. My husband is a deeply contented person. He’s perfectly happy to sit on the first bench we pass. I want to first check out every beach view on the island, before we rest and pick a bench to sit on.
We are learning how this together stuff will work for us.
But I have a sneaking suspicion that my running while daddy relaxes might just be key to happy travels.
There are times, if you look at it from the right angle, that your differences fit together perfectly.
