I’ve been told it doesn’t matter what you read to the baby, and she certainly seemed to enjoy this book tonight, especially when I read it in the same voice I use for The Pajama Dance or Dr. Seuss.
Shah and I sometimes struggle to find things we are both interested in doing in the evenings. This book seems to interest all three of us. It’s well written even if it doesn’t rhyme.
I’ve discovered that when it comes to children’s books I greatly prefer books that rhyme. I totally do not get the popularity of the love you to the moon and back book. Who thinks it is enjoyable to say ‘big nutbrown hare?’ It has no rythem or pleasing illiteration. On the other hand, Dinosaurs early and dinosaurs later, Dinosaurs standing in an elevator, is fabulous. I can not wait to get my hands Dr Seuss books. I am ready to rememorize them. Right now I just have the ABC book. Big A little a what begins with a.
She stubbornly refused to let me put her to bed again tonight . We made her skip her 5 o’clock and 8 o’clock nap, but she still would not stay asleep when I put her down at 11.
I hate it. I appreciate that I can sleep, but I hate missing more time with her. I think she is different during the week. We bond on the weekend, but she never seems quite as into me during the week.
It’s probably my imagination but I am looking forward to putting her to bed again soon.
