Two Year American Anniversary – Who Cares that Our Basement Flooded

January 17th is a special day for us. Two years ago today, Shah arrived in the US. Until this time, our relationship was long distance, except for a few visits in Istanbul. He is pretty amazing and life has gone very fast for us.

One year ago, we spent the day with my brother and sister in law registering for baby things. We seriously didn’t have a clue what we were doing.

And today, after traveling for the upteenth time, we will spend the day getting rid of things and starting fresh. We are all happy and healthy and two-thirds of us are still sleeping peacefully. So we came home last night to a flooded basement and no heat, but that daddy that God provided for us two years ago, fixed the pump, got the water out, fixed the heat and talked to a plumber; all while I found out that if it really was the pump’s fault, insurance won’t cover anything. So we are grateful for daddy and are looking forward to spending the day throwing things away. Because, stuff is no great loss, we have each other.
