Baby Photos Baby Sleep baby tips Travel Working Mom

Hilton Head, Augusta, and Traveling with Baby

I’m not sure if it was the colder weather, exhaustion from work, or that these locations leave much to be desired, but I actually don’t have photos of anything but this smiley girl… and sushi.
We had a good time together. We got to experience sleeping in a king bed and in two double beds. (We normally all share a queen) But without a doubt Savannah still tops our list of favorite cities for a weekend trip.
We just couldn’t quite figure Hilton Head out. Maybe you have stay in one of the resorts. But it felt like it was trying too hard. It was trying so hard to keep a natural appearance that it felt fake.
Maybe we will give it another chance someday, but it failed the first impression test.  Give me the grit of Savannah or beauty of Charleston any day.
But as far as a bed review goes. In case you are planning to have a baby and buy a bed, go with the king. Once your baby trains you, and you let her sleep with you, you will sleep so much better in a king. I could put my whole back flat on the bed and was never in fear of falling off.
We did the two doubles with the plan of boxing her in with pillows (she never rolls when she wakes up, just yells.)  The first night, I fell asleep feeding her and in the middle of the night daddy joined us because he was lonely. The second night I got her to sleep and then moved to daddy’s bed, but missed her and couldn’t sleep and rushed back to her bed when she woke to eat and ended up going back and forth a few times. If we ever have a little extra cash, I’d like to put our fairly new Costco queen in the guestroom and get a king. Maybe that will be the goal for baby #2. And no, I am not pregnant.
